Debora Hansen

Deb Hansen was born in Butte, Montana and graduated high school in Deer Lodge, Montana.  Growing up, Deb was very active in school activities, cheerleading, and student government.  After graduation, Deb continued her education at Eastern Montana College (now MSU-B), in Billings, Montana where she received her Bachelors in Special Education and Elementary Education.  Deb later received her Master’s in Education – Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Montana – GO GRIZ!

Deb married her husband Tim in 1984.  It was also in 1984 that Tim enlisted in the United States Marine Corp.  Due to moving a lot, Deb chose to focus on a career in early childhood education.  She started this career with a national corporation called, KinderCare. She directed early childhood centers in Texas, Kansas, Nevada, and California while Tim continued his service time.

In 1990, Tim and Deb were blessed with a baby boy, Heath.  Deb continued to work in the early childhood profession and was able to see all the “firsts” with her son as he attended each early childhood center that she directed.  This was a blessing!

In 2001 Tim retired from the Marine Corp and the family moved back to Montana.  After living in the Twin Bridges area until our son graduated, we moved to Helena.  Deb went to work for the State of Montana at the Early Childhood Services Bureau in Helena.  After five years with the state, Deb chose to work for Rocky Head Start as the Program Operations Manager.  The primary responsibility of this job was to support the education teaching team but also focused on social/emotional supports and learning for children and families of Head Start.  Deb retired from this job in June 2023.

Deb became interested in Impact Montana while attending a coaching training that her husband was involved in.  It was at this time that Deb learned the mission of Impact Montana and the target audiences but believed that a family component was missing. Deb became an official board member in April 2023 and fully believes that her experience in this area is an asset to building this component.

Deb enjoys spending time with her family, her church family, and friends.
